Deutscher Gemusesalat
4 C cabbage, finely shredded
1/2 green bell pepper, minced
1/2 C onion, chopped fine
1/4 C carrots, grated
10 black olives, sliced
1-1/2 TBS sugar
1-1/2 TBS hot water
2 TBS white vinegar
1/4 tsp. celery seeds
1/2 tsp. salt
Black pepper to taste
1/4 C olive oil
Place cabbage, bell pepper, onion, carrots and olives in large bowl; mix gently. In small bowl, stir sugar into hot water until dissolved. Stir in vinegar, celery seeds, salt and black pepper. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture; drizzle with olive oil. Toss, cover and refrigerate for two hours or more. Serve chilled (toss again before serving).
