Almond Cake
1/2 square butter, softened
1 C sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. almond extract
1 C flour
In a bowl, combine softened butter and sugar. In a separate bowl, beat eggs. Add almond extract to beaten eggs. Pour into butter and sugar mixture. Add flour, and mix well until batter is smooth. Pour into a greased 8" pie plate or cake pan. Sprinkle slivered almond on top of cake mixture. Bake at 350-degrees F for twenty-five to twenty-seven minutes. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
