Tea Cakes

Melt the margarine in a large cooking pot. Add the milk; heat to about 115-degrees F. Dissolve yeast into the liquid. Then add the sugar, salt, bread spices, and most of the flour. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. On a floured surface, knead the dough and then roll out into large rounds (about 1/4" or 1/2" thick). Then cut into circular shapes (about 4" to 5" diameter). Place on a cookie sheet; use a fork to prick the dough with air holes. Let rise for about thirty minutes, and then bake in a 400-degree F oven for about ten minutes or until golden.

Note: Brodkryddor ("bread spices") is a mix of anise, fennel and cumin often added to bread dough for extra taste. Brodkryddor can be purchased already mixed and packaged in Sweden, but preparing homemade requires little time and effort.
