2 C sugar
1/2 gallon water
Dozen ice cubes
3 family-sized orange pekoe teabags
3 C cold water (use more if necessary)
Add sugar to a large pitcher. Bring water to a boil in a large pan. When water begins to boil, remove from the heat; place teabags in the water. Allow tea to steep for about five to six minutes. Remove tea bags; return tea to the heat and bring just to a boil. Pour into pitcher; stir until sugar is dissolved. Fill pitcher half way with ice; stir until most of the ice melts. Fill pitcher the rest of the way with cold water; stir until blended and serve.
