Shrimp Broth

My father has taken to watching the Food Network in recent months.

For the longest time my parents didn't get the channel in their area, but now that they do my Dad will check in now and then and watch some of the shows. A few weeks ago he gave me the recipe for Shrimp Broth but wasn't sure on which show he saw the dish prepared.

The recipe is as follows:

Shrimp Broth

Empty shells from cleaned shrimp

1/2 C white wine

1 TBS garlic, minced

4 C water

Salt to taste

In a large pot, bring all the ingredients to boil; simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally. Strain shells out of broth using a colander; let broth cool. Freeze unused portions.

The broth is mainly used in seafood-based soups.
