1/4 C tomato ketchup
4 tsp. sake
4 tsp. soy sauce
4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. prepared applesauce
4 tsp. rice wine vinegar
4 tsp. prepared yellow mustard
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Mix all ingredients in a bowl; whisk until thoroughly blended. Recipe makes one cup of sauce.
Use with Tonkatsu (Pork Cutlets with Cabbage), beef steak, chicken, fish or turkey dishes. The sauce can also be drizzled on shredded cabbage.
