Egyptian stewed cauliflower
1 head cauliflower, rinsed & cut into flowerets
Vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 LB lean ground beef
Water
Salt & black pepper to taste
6 garlic cloves, peeled & halved
Rinse cauliflower head under cold running water; cut into flowerets. Drizzle a thin layer of vegetable oil into a large skillet; add chopped onion and cook until golden. Stir in ground beef; cook until browned. Add just enough water to cover ingredients; bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer; add salt, black pepper and garlic. Cover and cook for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cauliflower flowerets; cover and cook for an additional ten to fifteen minutes. Serve.
