Grits; Seminole & Miccosukee tribes
2 QTS water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 C white rice
3 TBS cornstarch
Bring water to a boil in a medium cooking pot. Add rice and cornstarch, stirring occasionally to prevent rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Boil for approximately twelve minutes. Lower heat; add baking soda. Stir frequently until rice is tender. Set and cool for about five minutes; and then serve.
