3 C whole wheat flour
2 C soy flour
1 C wheat germ
1 C cornmeal
1 C nonfat dry milk
1/2 C brewer's yeast
1 can (15 ounces) mackerel
5 TBS vegetable oil
1 TBS cod liver oil
2 C water (or more as needed)
2 multi-purpose feline vitamins, ground fine
Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients, including crushed vitamin. In another bowl, mash mackerel into small pieces with a fork. Mix in oil and water. Add mackerel mixture to dry ingredients and mix well. Roll out dough to about 1/4" thickness and then cut into 1/4" pieces. Place the pieces on a greased cookie sheet and bake for about twenty-five minutes. Occasionally toss pieces with a wooden spoon during baking time so that they can brown evenly. Allow the cat treats to cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Note: Kitty Kibble treats freeze well for longer storage.
Recommended: Add multi-purpose feline vitamins in the preparation of this dish to provide optimum nutrition for your cat (s). Use a mortar and pestle to crush the vitamins into a fine powder, and then mix well with the other ingredients.
