Asian Burgers
1 LB ground beef or ground turkey
4 TBS soy sauce
2 TBS sugar
1 TBS sesame seeds (optional)
1 TBS vegetable or canola oil
3 TBS green onion, chopped
1 TBS fresh garlic, minced (sub with 1/2 tsp. garlic powder)
Black pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten
1/4 C breadcrumbs (or more if needed)
Hamburger buns (optional)
Lettuce (optional)
Tomato (optional)
In a large bowl mix the ground hamburger or turkey, soy sauce, sugar, sesame seeds, oil, green onion, garlic and black pepper. Then add the beaten egg, mixing with hands. Add bread crumbs until meat is no longer sticky. Shape hamburger patties to about 1/2" thick. Fry, broil or grill the patties until meat is no longer pink. Serve on hamburger buns with lettuce and tomato if desired.
