Greetings from Food
Fare...
Welcome to Food Fare and the sixth
edition of our newsletter, Food Fare Notes.
Summer is finally
winding down, which is none too soon for me. I'm looking forward to autumn and
it's rich culinary offerings, including spicy harvest yields and the lure of
Halloween.
In the meantime, thanks for stopping by Food Fare
and enjoy the new recipes....

For Diabetics
This new collection of recipes for diabetics was inspired by my former husband and dear
friend
Wilbert Alviso, who has
Type II
Diabetes. Keeping him healthy is
quite a task because he loves breads and any dish containing chocolate. I'm
hoping the influx of new recipes tailored just for diabetics will appeal
to him as well.
Here's a sample:
Root Beer Float
1/3 cup scoop fat-free
(no sugar) vanilla frozen yogurt
6 oz. sugar-free root
beer
2 straws
Place yogurt in a tall
glass. Pour in the diet root beer; stir lightly to mix. Add the straws and
serve. Makes one serving.
Nutrition information
per serving: 57 calories (0% calories from fat), 2 g protein, 0 total
fat (0 saturated fat), 13 g carbohydrate, 0 dietary fiber, 0 cholesterol, 55
