Amaretto

• 2 C sugar

• 2 C water

• 2 C vodka

• 2 C brandy

• 4 tsp. almond extract

Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for ten minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients. Pour into containers and seal. Serve as a liqueur.

 

Uses: Amaretto can be added to desserts (including ice cream) and savory recipes with chicken and other meats. Amaretto can also be used to flavor coffee or added to bread, cookie and pancake batters.
