Can you imagine spending this kind of money on cheese?
Stilton made with gold flakes goes on sale at £60 a wedge
According to the Daily Mail:
Long Clawson Dairy in Leicestershire will make a limited run of [Gold Stilton] this Christmas. They have already been contacted by interested parties, including a Gulf-based oil sheikh and a famous pop star. The premium white Stilton is shot through with a combination of real edible gold leaf and real gold liqueur.
Let's see...£60 works out to be around $95 USD.
Do you know how many packages of ramen noodles and frozen vegetables that amount of money could buy instead?
Even if I felt inclined to blow $95 at whim, I can think of a whole slew of other food-related goodies I'd rather spend it on.
