Tale of Two Luncheons

Yesterday Wilbert and I had an unexpected free lunch from the pub dubbed Bluz at the Bend. The fare was fresh although typical (catfish for me, club sandwich for hubby), but because their computer system was down and they couldn't run our credit card through, the owner of the pub let us go for free. It was classy, and rare.

Today we lunched out again, this time at Old Country Buffet. I love their baked fish sans breading. I also loaded up on Brussels sprouts, chicken dumplings and cheese enchiladas. It sounds like an odd combination, but it was wonderful. We snatched two hot dogs for the pooches Foofer and Rainee, and rolled home from there.

Speaking of the dogs, when we pulled into the parking lot at the Old Country Buffet, a man approached our van as if to speak to us when we came out. Before he could take another step, Foofer and Rainee blasted against the van windows, snarling and barking at the poor fellow. He beat a hasty retreat, so I have no idea what he wanted from us.

Probably a free lunch.
