Blue Kitchen

There wasn't much cause for celebration in my house today because of the disastrous election results, so our kitchen remained cold except for the ever-warming coffee pot.
This afternoon I found the rather small web site West Cork (previously known as A Taste of Cork), which contains a small selection of Irish recipes. I like the following:
Celtic Wedges
2kg potatoes
300g plain flour
50g turmeric
25g chili powder
50g paprika
50g dried mixed herbs
25g rock salt
200ml vegetable oil
Wash the potatoes and cut into wedges (six pieces per potato). Mix flour and spices together and add rock salt. Coat the potatoes with the spiced flour. Heat roasting tray with vegetable oil, when hot add in the flour-spiced wedges and cook in the oven at 180-degrees C for twenty minutes before serving.
All the measurements are metric, with a UK oven temperature. An easy converter for measurements and temperatures can be found at Online Conversion.
