Old European Breakfast

On the spur of the moment, Wilbert and I decided to go out for breakfast after running several errands this morning.

I typically don't eat in the morning, but Wilbert always likes a big breakfast after working all night. Because of the errands, he never got a chance to sit down and eat, so we made a slight detour and chose the Old European Breakfast House for a meal.

Old European Breakfast House (Spokane, WA).

Neither one of us had eaten there before, but it turned out to be a real treat. I've often found dining in restaurants leaves a lot to be desired because the food arrives cold nine times out of ten. Not today! Wilbert ordered a Scandinavian omelet with a stack of pancakes and I had German potato pancakes. Both meals were piping hot; even the dishes were warmed. The coffee was a bit robust, but the flavor was wonderful (lots of creamer for me). The service was prompt and friendly, so Wilbert and I left the waiter a generous tip.

I can now add the Old European Breakfast House to our short list of favorites, which also includes the Japanese eatery a few blocks from our house (Kyoto Teriyaki).
