Birthday Lunch #42
Posted Fri, 08/29/03
Today was my birthday. Wilbert ordered take-out from my favorite Japanese restaurant, Kyoto Teriyaki. He asked me days ago what I wanted to do on my birthday, and I told him: order lunch from Kyoto, and lay about in my silk pajamas doing absolutely nothing.
We had our wonderful lunch. Wilbert adored his "Mongolian Beef" (Kyoto also serves a few Chinese dishes), and Foofer and I had our usual Teriyaki Chicken with vegetables and rice. Yes, Foofer always gets his own order – sans the rice and veggies, of course. What can I say? Foofer loves chicken and teriyaki.
The other part of my wish was impossible. Not because of any outside interference, but I couldn't keep myself from the computer and my book. I'm almost halfway through the edit and couldn't get it off my mind. Editing is like torture in a way, but also provides a great deal of satisfaction when it's all said and done.
I guess you could say I spent my birthday just as I wanted to.
