Highly Satisfied

For an early birthday lunch, Wilbert and I took a ride to A&W Restaurant with our dogs. I haven't eaten A&W food in ages.
Wilbert ordered a fish sandwich and bacon cheeseburger. I went hog-wild and had a basket of shrimp and fries, along with the prerequisite root beer.
I adore shellfish, with shrimp ranking high on the list. Since Wilbert dislikes it, I rarely make it for myself or order out because it's often so expensive. The shrimp basket at A&W is $3.99, but is surprisingly loaded with lightly breaded tails. I ate every last one of them, leaving most of the fries. I didn't even give a taste to Foofer and Rainee.
A&W root beer is another wonder. I'm not sure what they add to the mix to give it that original taste, but have yet to encounter other frothy brews which compare to it. When I was a child, my parents used to frequent the A&W in Salt Lake City, where waitresses would come out to the car and serve meals on a tray attached to the car window. The good old days . . .
Now that I've stuffed myself, I'm off to curl up on the living room floor with the remote control, a blanket and my beloved canines.
