Blissful Luncheon Fare

I've spent the last day immersed in a web project, so there has been very little activity in my kitchen. By the time lunch rolled around, I was starving. Rather than make a mess by assembling another salad, I ordered take-out from Kyoto Teriyaki. Because the dogs love the chicken as well as me, I brought home four Chicken Teriyaki entrees which also included rice and steamed vegetables, with sides of Gyoza and egg rolls.
I always chop up the chicken into bite-sized pieces for Foofer and Rainee. Needless to say, they were in a bit of culinary heaven as they chowed-down. I split their portions of rice and vegetables between myself and Wilbert. We had a very nice luncheon interlude.
The egg rolls from Kyoto are superb. The skins are paper-thin, and cut in half diagonally. Dipping sauces were also provided for the egg rolls and Gyoza. I found myself eating my share before I even touched the chicken.
It was quite a satisfying meal, although I couldn't eat like that every day. The food is basically healthy: chicken, plain white sticky rice and steamed vegetables, with the only "junk" food perhaps being the egg rolls and Gyoza. However, the method in which Kyoto prepares their appetizers leaves very little grease and a delightfully crunchy texture.
