Contentment with Ease

Wilbert and I enjoyed another Hibachi-grilled dinner last night.
Shortly after mowing the yard, Wilbert set up the coals and grilled chicken and corn on the cob.
I whipped up some mixed vegetables, and we sat down together for a nice meal – one of the few times we get to do so during the week.
It was idyllic. The temperature outside had dropped considerably, and it was a pleasant seventy degrees with a gentle wind. The aroma of barbeque and the smell of freshly-cut grass gave over a feeling of contentment and ease. Even Foofer was happy, eyeing the chicken and rolling around in the newly shorn but green grass.
The evening was topped off by a brilliant rainbow streaking across the sky.
