Midday Repast

Today for lunch I had a yen for a tuna sandwich and a bowl of soup. When my parents visited last week, they brought me several cans of Habitant Pea Soup with Smoked Ham. The soup is a product of Canada, which I have never seen in any of the local grocery stores I frequent. The soup is thick and heated without water dilution; a very hearty meal by itself with a wonderful flavor.
My father always adds sliced green olives to tuna, and I have acquired a taste for the mix to which I also include minced celery. Today I toasted sliced French bread and spread whipped butter on one half. On the other half, I placed a thin piece of Provolone cheese and then added the tuna. On top came romaine lettuce and black pepper.
Combined with the pea soup and hot tea, the tuna sandwich was a tasty repast and highly enjoyable.
