Pickles in Connecticut

I received an e-mail from a reader today in relation to my article about America:
I wonder if you can help me with a question that has been give to me? In order for a pickle to be officially considered a pickle in Connecticut, America what must it be able to do? If you have any information that can help me with this I would be most grateful.
Believe it or not, there is information floating around the web about a law in Connecticut stating: In order for a pickle to officially be considered a pickle, it must bounce.
I'm unsure if the law is still in effect, or if it was a fluke in a previous century.
I learn something every day.
