Pasta Hullabaloo
Posted Mon, 05/01/06
Yesterday was nice and slow-paced. My husband and I bought take-out food from the Chinese deli at Safeway, which included chicken chow mein, ham fried rice, broccoli & beef, and Kung Pao chicken. I detest fixing "every day" meals, so getting take-out grub is always a treat.
We also purchased organic pasta at Safeway yesterday, mainly because it was on sale "10 for $10," along with wheat pasta. This afternoon I prepared the noodles and threw together a quick sauce. Afterward, I looked over the nutritional differences between organic and standard semolina pastas (per two-ounce serving sizes in which 56g equals 1/8 of one-pound of pasta).

So what's the big hullabaloo about organic pasta? There isn't much difference in the nutritional facts, obviously. Organic also tastes nearly the same as common pasta. Am I missing something?
Perhaps I should come out of "article retirement" and get busy with some pasta facts. Stay tuned.
