Foofer's Teriyaki

Posted Mon, 03/31/03

Foofer had a superb sixth birthday. Instead of getting him a side of teriyaki chicken from Kyoto, we brought home the full meal. Wilbert took the white rice and vegetables, but the teriyaki chicken was all Foofer's. I cut the numerous strips into bite-sized pieces and placed them in his freshly washed dinner bowl, and let him have at it.

Foofer dove right in, although I noticed he paused frequently to look at me as if to make certain the chicken was really all his. (I've been known to tease him on occasion).

Afterward, as most dogs do when content, Foofer spread out on the living room floor, running his face along the carpet. He stopped and rolled the other way, then flipped onto his back to do some more rolling.

Foofer was genuinely happy. I think he was quite pleased with the teriyaki chicken from Kyoto.
