Plump & Green

Posted Mon, 03/12/12

Last Saturday, I found a beautiful bundle of asparagus at the grocery store. The stalks were plump and fresh, unlike the scrawny, half-dead impersonators to be had throughout the winter months. The current price was also easier to swallow: $1.49-per-pound as opposed to the $3.99-per-pound charged just a month ago for much less substance.

Sunday Dinner: Grilled salmon filets, rice pilaf and steamed asparagus.

Last night's dinner consisted of grilled salmon filets, rice pilaf and steamed asparagus. The entire meal was delicious, although the asparagus was my favorite part.

If only artichokes looked better these days and came down in price. If so, I'd be a happy culinary camper.
