Wilbert has type II diabetes. While he is quite aware of what he should and should not eat, he tends to ignore common sense anyway. No matter that I prepare healthy food for the most part. When he wants an extra slice of bread or a candy bar, there is no stopping him. He has a stock answer when I remonstrate with him: "I can cover myself with the insulin." It seems no matter what I try to do, or what I say to him, my husband will do as he pleases.

I thought about creating a special recipe page for diabetics for a long time, but wasn't sure how to go about it. I'm not an expert, nor do I have any medical training. However, Wilbert has gobs of reference material he has collected over the years (if only he would pay heed to some it).
