New Choppers

Since Wednesday my diet has consisted of basic mush. Over the years, I've suffered from extraordinary bone loss brought on by the use of medications prescribed to me more than a decade ago. The bone loss also affected my jaw and teeth, unfortunately. Three days ago I had four teeth pulled and a partial denture put in place.
It's been no bed of roses, but not as bad as I thought it would be. The feel of the partial is becoming more "natural" every day.
However, it has temporarily limited my food consumption to soft fare: pudding, macaroni and cheese and soups for the most part.
Today was a milestone. I was able to eat turkey hot dogs wrapped in a fresh croissant, one careful bite at a time. Simple, yet it tasted marvelous.
Tomorrow I'm going to try soft tamales and tomato soup, but I'm really craving a take-out order from the Kyoto restaurant near my house, which includes teriyaki chicken with steamed vegetables and white rice.
Some day soon . . .
