Curious Dipping

This is an interesting recipe from Hormel:

Everything Ham Dip

1 pkg. cream cheese (3 oz.), softened

1/2 C sour cream

1 TBS sherry

1 can Hormel Chunk Ham (5 oz.), drained & flaked

2 TBS chopped water chestnuts

2 TBS minced onion

1/2 tsp. dried dill weed

1/4 C Hormel Real Bacon Bits

3 TBS finely chopped pecans

Melba toast, if desired

Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and sherry. Beat until smooth. Stir in ham, water chestnuts, onion and dill weed. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, about one hour. Stir in bacon and pecans just before serving. Serve with Melba toast, if desired. Makes about two cups.

I haven't eaten Melba toast in years. I think the unique dip would also be good on fancy snack crackers and/or a toasted bagel.
