Polish Noodles

The following is surprisingly delicious:

Kluski z Makiem (Noodles with Poppy Seeds)

3 TBS poppy seeds

2 TBS sugar

1 pkg. wide egg noodles

2 TBS butter

Scald the poppy seeds with boiling water and then soak for three hours. Drain. Force the seeds through a sieve or a grinder, and then mix with the sugar. Cook the noodles according to package directions in lightly salted water. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place the noodles in a baking dish and heat in the oven at 300-degrees F for about five minutes. Mix with the poppy seeds and butter mix. Serve hot.

The recipe first appeared in my article about Poland, and then in the e-book release of Polish Kuchina.
