Harry Truman Salad
1 head iceberg or greenleaf lettuce
4 green onions, chopped (use white & green parts)
4 strips of bacon, fully cooked
1 egg, beaten
1/4 C sugar
1/4 C vinegar
1 heaping TBS sour cream
Break lettuce into pieces in a large bowl; add chopped green onions. In a frying pan, cook bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Pour off bacon drippings from frying pan. In a small bowl, combine egg, sugar, vinegar and sour cream; beat well. Add bacon pieces; pour mixture into frying pan. Cook until the mixture is thick, stirring constantly. Allow to cool before pouring mixture over prepared lettuce; toss to coat. Serve.
