Meaty Macaroni Casserole
2 LBS (about 3-1/2 C) leftover cooked macaroni
1/2 C butter/butter
1/2 C onion, chopped
6 TBS flour
5 C milk
2 bouillon cubes
Salt & black pepper to taste
2 C cheddar cheese, grated
4 C leftover cooked meat (beef, ham, pork or poultry), chopped
In large saucepan sauté butter and onions until light brown. Add flour, milk, bouillon cubes, salt, black pepper, grated cheese and chopped meat. Pour over cooked macaroni. Bake at 350-degrees F for about thirty minutes. Variation: Cook mixture in a crock pot on low setting for about six hours.
