Emirian fried ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 onions, sliced
Salt to taste
3 TBS clarified butter (ghee)
2 LBS ground beef
1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. cumin powder
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. Bzar (Emirian Spice Mix)
1 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tomatoes, chopped
1-1/2 tsp. tomato paste
3/4 C water
2 potatoes, peeled & cubed
1 C frozen peas
1 bunch fresh coriander, chopped
Juice from 2 lemons
Add garlic, onions and salt to taste to a skillet with clarified butter; fry over medium heat until mixture is browned. Stir in ground beef; cook until browned. Add cumin seeds, chopped coriander, cumin powder, chili powder, Bzar, turmeric, cardamom and cinnamon; cook and stir constantly for about two minutes. Stir in tomatoes and tomato paste; add water, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until water is absorbed and mixture appears dry. Add potatoes, peas and chopped coriander; simmer until potatoes are tender. Drizzle with lemon juice over before serving.
Note: Kheema is an Indian-based dish popular in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It can be served as a main meal or used as a sandwich filling.
