Cheesy Chive Bread
2 C self-rising flour
1 tsp. mustard powder
1/4 tsp salt
1-1/4 C sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 TBS fresh chives, chopped
2 TBS butter, melted
1 medium egg, beaten
2/3 C milk (room temperature)
Preheat oven to 375-degrees F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, mustard powder and salt. Mix in one cup of the grated cheese and chives. Add melted butter, egg and milk. Mix thoroughly. Pat the dough into prepared round cake pan. Sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup grated cheese. Bake for about thirty minutes. Allow bread to rest in the cake pan for ten minutes before removing. Cut bread into wedges and serve with butter.
