Qatari sticky custard balls
2 C flour
2 TBS powdered milk
1 TBS sugar
1 TBS dried yeast
2 TBS prepared custard
1/4 tsp. saffron
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 C milk
1 C warm water
Pinch of salt
Vegetable oil (for cooking)
Sweet syrup to taste (for serving)
Place all ingredients (except for vegetable oil) in a bowl; mix until a dough forms. Set aside and allow to rise for about one hour. Roll or shape dough into small balls. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet; fry dough balls until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels; drizzle with sweet syrup and serve.
