Trick or Treats (savory popcorn)Try this recipe for a quick and easy Halloween snack:

Trick or Treats (savory popcorn)

12 C popped popcorn

1 LB bacon, fried crisp, drained & broken into 1" pieces

1 can (12 oz.) mixed nuts, toasted

1/2 C shelled sunflower seeds, toasted

4 TBS butter or margarine, melted & divided

3 TBS grated Parmesan cheese, divided

Combine the popcorn, bacon, nuts and sunflower seeds in a large bowl. Drizzle two tablespoons butter on the mixture and sprinkle with 4-1/2 teaspoons of the Parmesan cheese; toss. Repeat with remaining two tablespoons of butter and 4-1/2 teaspoons of Parmesan cheese. Serve warm (makes 12 one-cup servings). Sunflower Seeds Tip: To toast, spread the sunflower seeds in a large, dry skillet. Heat over medium-low heat. Stir the seeds or shake the skillet frequently for about four to six minutes or until the seeds turn golden.

Speaking of Halloween recipes, Katherine sent me a link to Hookery Cookery (where there is a listing of fiendish treats such as Curried Banana Cauldron, Spooky Spiced Chicken, Black Widow Fizz, and more).

The more the merrier I always say - thanks, Katherine . . .
