Return to Normal

Before my surgery last month, my body had a hard time with foods containing fiber, as well as any kind of nuts, seeds, black pepper and other spicy concoctions for more than eight years.

Now that I'm free from such issues, I've been returning to my frequent luncheon salads, spicing up tacos, and adding copious amounts of pepper to most of my dishes. I've also been indulging my love of sunflower seeds without being plagued with problems from the past.

Today's lunch was a mixture of Romaine and green leaf lettuce, onions, cubed cheese, bacon, sunflower seeds and a mere splash of Ranch dressing with good shakes of black pepper. What a heavenly meal, something that I will probably never take for granted again.

What's on for tonight? Tacos with lots of hot sauce.
