According to the piece, certain US presidents liked the following foods:

  • John F. Kennedy liked New England clam chowder, corn muffins, and baked beans.

  • Lyndon Johnson loved Fresca, canned peas, tapioca pudding, and sweet potatoes with toasted marshmallows.

  • Richard Nixon favored cottage cheese and fresh fruit, sometimes choosing to garnish his morning meal with ketchup.

  • Gerald Ford's favorite meal was savory pot roast, red cabbage, and butter pecan ice cream.

  • Jimmy Carter was a fan of corn bread and sirloin steak (cooked medium rare); and of course peanuts.

  • Ronald Reagan liked licorice-flavored jelly beans, pumpkin pecan pie, monkey bread, ice cream, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, and Nancy's fudgy brownies.

  • Although he detested broccoli, George H.W. Bush did like hot sauce, which he used on everything from eggs to pork rinds.

  • When Hillary was out of town, President Bill Clinton preferred steak and onion rings for dinner.

  • Reportedly, one of Barack Obama's favorite foods is chili.
