Kitten Milk
12 oz. boiling water
1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin
(Dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water)
1 can (12 oz.) evaporated canned milk
2 TBS mayonnaise
2 TBS plain yogurt
1 TBS light corn syrup
1 egg yolk
Combine all ingredients in a blender; mix well. Place in covered bowl and store in refrigerator. Kitten Milk will keep for up to seven days. Warm a small amount for feedings.
Recommended: Add multi-purpose feline vitamins in the preparation of this dish to provide optimum nutrition for your cat (s). Use a mortar and pestle to crush the vitamins into a fine powder, and then mix well with the other ingredients.

Many cats are lactose-intolerant, which means that they cannot digest cow's milk properly and they get diarrhea or gastric upset when they drink it.
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA): "Unless they are spoiled or moldy, milk, cheese and other dairy foods are not considered to be poisonous to pets. However, many pets' digestive systems cannot tolerate dairy foods very well. This can result in vomiting and diarrhea, which in severe cases could lead to inflammation of the pancreas. For this reason, it's always a good idea to check with your veterinarian before offering any 'people food' to your pets."
One alternative is using lactose-free milk in recipes, which you can find in pet stores. Whiskas makes a product called Catmilk.
