1 banana, mashed
4 pieces of Bak Kwa*
Chocolate spread (such as Jif or Nutella)
2 pieces round whole wheat bread
Cut bread rounds in half; set aside. In a bowl, mash the banana until smooth. Spread chocolate on top of the bread; place mashed banana on top of the chocolate spread. Add two pieces of Bak Kwa on top of mashed banana (two pieces Bak Kwa for each bread).
Bake in a 350-degree oven for fifteen to twenty-five minutes. Recipe makes two servings.
*Please Note: Bak Kwa, also known as "rougan," is a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat product similar to jerky. It originated from the Fujian province in China where it is considered a Hokkien delicacy. Bakkwa is often made with beef, pork or mutton, which are prepared with spices, sugar, salt and soy sauce, while dried on racks. Information source: Wikipedia.
