BIOGRAPHY: Tracy Jon Powell

• I am the Coyote - The myth foretold to the Sky Village children by the old man Raven. Here is the principal of paradox in magic and science. More than human and only a man who's life is not as simple as you think it is. Gifted at art, my hands are that of the artist who crafts the world in beauty, and brings to life living. Coyote lover is a gift never limited to one world and the touch of pleasure to the muses skin. Reader of cards, and teller of fate. Open the door you nailed shut so many hundreds of years ago - and walk out in to the valley of juniper and granite, pines, and red rock living and snow bound lovers. Enter in the cathedral of generations, where the Coyote is the binder of ties to wrists and ankles wrapped in sweat stained sheets. Take only one short moment to regain your breath, draw the air in like you draw the Coyote into your body and soul. Hold your panting until you feel the need to scream.
  
  Welcome to my biography. It should be more fun than chasing a cat with a leaf blower.
  
  Painting is my core being in art. I have been working as an artist for more than thirty years, selling in galleries across the western United States and overseas. While painting is central to my art, I also make and sell primitive musical interments such as drum, rattles and flutes, all of which are built by hand in the traditional manner. For fun, I build crossbows, Ballistas, catapults, and my favorite Trebuchet (able to hurl objects up to 300 feet). I also carve in wood detailed statues and walking sticks. I have even built a few totem poles just for fun. There is not a single day that goes by that I do not built or create something, unless I am out in pursuit of one of my errant selfish pleasures like skiing, climbing, mountain biking or road tripping.
  
  I have climbed for almost forty years, and still get out when possible. Climbing partners my age are hard to come by. Most younger climbers are what is known as "Sport Climbers," whereas I am an "Alpine Climber." I enjoy telemark skiing the backcountry of northern Utah up to the Canadian border. I love mountaineering and being outdoors whenever possible. I ride a mountain bike most warm days two times a day.
  
  My two greatest works of art are my daughters. I am their dad and friend at the same time. I live a simple life for the most part, not demanding a lot of resources and not owning an over abundant amount of personal property.
