Witches Hats

• 1-1/2 C flour

• 1/2 tsp. baking powder

• 1/8 tsp. salt

• 1/2 C butter, softened

• 2/3 C powdered sugar

• 1 egg

• 1/2 tsp. vanilla

• 2 squares (1 oz. each) semisweet chocolate, melted

• 36 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped

Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheet (s). In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl, mix butter and powdered sugar until well blended. Add the egg and vanilla to butter and sugar mixture; blend well. Stir in melted chocolate until completely blended. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until well blended.

 

Shape the dough into 36 balls. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheets. Flatten each ball to a 1/4"-thickness. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Bake six to seven minutes or until cookies are set. Cool on wire rack. Recipe makes about three dozen cookies.
