SCOTLAND
Jennifer (British Columbia, Canada), re: Scottish Vivers
Just wanted to say that I love your book about Scotland. I have been searching the web for Scottish info to put in with my family history as it would be a bit boring with just names and dates. I have found all sorts of little bits on your site. This is only for the family so hope that is okay.
[Reply]: Thanks for your kinds words. I'm glad you enjoyed our e-book Scottish Vivers, and found the information useful.
From Carolyn R., re: Scottish Vivers
What does the word "Vivers" in "Scottish Vivers" mean?
[Reply]: "Vivers" is defined as "victuals" or "food." The word is primarily used by the Scots, but is actually based in Middle French and Latin languages.
