Tapioca Cake

Preheat oven to 350-degrees F. In a medium saucepan, mix together milk, vanilla pod, sugar, ground nutmeg and cloves; bring to a boil. Remove saucepan from heat; mix in tapioca. Return to heat and simmer on low for about ten minutes, stirring frequently. Remove saucepan from heat; discard vanilla pod. Add the cream and set aside. Peel bananas. In a bowl, mash bananas with a fork; add to tapioca mixture. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Grease a round baking dish; pour in cake mixture. Bake in middle oven for about fifteen minutes. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
