Omani noodle dessert
1/3 C butter
1 LB vermicelli pasta, cooked
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 C almond powder
1/2 C desiccated coconut*
Cook vermicelli pasta according to package directions; drain. Melt the butter in a deep saucepan; add the cooked vermicelli and sauté until slightly golden. Add the sweetened condensed milk, almond powder and coconut; stir over medium heat until well-mixed, about two minutes. Remove saucepan from heat and allow to cool slightly; transfer mixture to desired baking molds in equal portions (but do not bake). Cool to room temperature; remove from molds and serve.
*Note: Desiccated coconut is fresh coconut which has been shredded and then dried to remove moisture. It can be found in most grocery stores or ordered online.
