Churros
Doughnuts
1-1/3 C flour
1 C water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 large egg
Vegetable oil for frying
Sugar
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil with the salt. Gradually pour into a bowl containing the flour. Stir with a wooden spoon to make smooth dough. Beat in the egg; stir until smooth. Place dough in a pastry bag (or use a large plastic freezer bag with a corner snipped off). Add vegetable oil to a skillet; pipe the dough in the hot oil in the shape of a spiral (take care not to overheat oil). Fry until a golden brown. Lift out pastry spiral with a fork; drain on paper towels. Cut into desired lengths; sprinkle with sugar.
